The Nolan Center Museum accepts donations and short-term loans that support its mission to collect, preserve, interpret, and share the natural and cultural history of Wrangell Island and the surrounding region.

Because each item becomes part of a larger public collection, all potential donations are reviewed by museum staff before they are accepted. Items must relate to the museum’s mission, fall within the scope of its collections, and meet the standards required for long-term care, documentation, and interpretation.

All donations must be accompanied by a completed donation agreement form and made directly through the Nolan Center Director or designated museum staff. Items left without a completed and signed agreement may be returned to the donor. Once accepted into the collection, donated items become the property of the museum and are not returned to the original owner or their beneficiaries.

Short-term loans may also be accepted for exhibitions or special projects. Loaned items must have an agreed-upon return date. Items that are not claimed after the loan period may be subject to abandoned property laws.
